Crigglestone All Blacks U9s lost out to a strong Featherstone Lions side in a hard fought encounter. Defence was the order of the day in the first half as Featherstone spread the ball wide and scored tries in the
corners. But good tackling by Billy Greensmith, Sam Johnson (Top Tackler) and Sam Tallant (Man of the Match), kept the game tight.
A much improved performance in the second half saw Sam Tallant charge through for a well deserved try. And with other strong performances from Owen Hinchcliffe (Most Improved), Liam Senior and Jordon Crowther, Featherstone were restricted to a couple of break-away tries.
Crigg 11s were held to a draw at home to Upton. Jordan Bartholomew ran in 2 tries with top tackler Josh Abbott getting himself on the score sheet. RJB Joinery player went to Adam Allerton after some excellent
runs down the field. The other tries went to Sam Mally.
Crigg U12s overcame Garforth in a hard fought game to come out worthy 22-10 winners. Two magnificent tries by Arron Cockell backed up by tries from Eddie Medforth and Man of the Match George Nuttall, with
three conversions by Jordan Bashforth. Top tacklers Ollie Hopwood and Darryl Seaton rounded off a great team performance, with Michael Greensmith taking out the Most Improved award.
The U13s continued their fine form with a 50-0 hammering of Thornhill. Man of the Match Luke Drury waded in with three tries. Andy Moody, Matty Mosley and Luke Fletcher grabbed a brace each, with Matty Marsden scoring the other. Leo Peat added 5 goals and Nick Taylor was again the top tackler.
Crigg U10s fought hard to the end to come away with another win against Headingley Hawks. All the players put in a great performance, William Simpson won a player of the match award for some outstanding drives and brilliant tackling work throughout the game. Jordan Crowther was awarded Top Tackler for his
great defensive work, he battled throughout the game. Robert Chadwick was most improved, another player who has recently changed position but who has taken it in his stride to put in some good performances both in defence and attack.
Crigg's under 15s took the field for the first time in 4 weeks and showed plenty of rust in the first half which resulted in spilled ball and three early conceded tries. Despite good performances from Gareth Roberts, Rob Hallas and Dale Powers, they could not break down a resolute home defence. Playing with only 12 men eventually took its toll but with injury returnees and new signings next week, all was not doom and gloom in going down to the division's top side. The enthusiasm of players like Eddie Bennett and Johnny Wootton will ensure plenty of wins will come before the end of the season.
