Junior Reports 11th/12th November 2006 There was a hat-trick for Crigg U13s too. Luke Drury claimed three tries as Crigg romped home 28-0 away at Walton. Luke Fletcher waded in with another two and Man of the Match Nick Taylor also crossed. Martin Robinson scored two goals. Top tackler was debutant James Thornton who looks to have a very promising future ahead of him. Crigg U12s won a hard fought game at Whinmoor 18-10. Captain Arron Cockell led from the front with a man of the match performance including three tries and the top tackling award. A tight first half saw Crigg trail 6-4 after Cockell had scored just before the break. Shortly after the restart, Whinmoor went further ahead leading 10-4. Cockell scored his second midway through the second stanza and Jordan Bashforth's goal drew the scores level. Cockell completed his hat-trick with just four minutes to go to put Crigg ahead and Jordan Hargreaves put the icing on the cake with a try on the final whistle. Crigg 11s beat Heworth 22-8. Jordan Bartholomew opened the score with a fine run from half way. Heworth pulled in front with two quick tries to take the lead at half time. After the break R.J.B Joinery player adam allerton went over the line twice to take the lead with other tries coming from Jordan Crigg under 10s fought bravely against a tough Walton side on Saturday, Lee Alderson was awarded Man of the match for his two tries that spurred the team to keep fighting till the end, Top Tackler went to Jordan Crowther for his relentless work in defence, Will Atkinson was awarded a much deserved This week Crigglestone All Blacks played their first ever match in the top group of YARL U9 teams. An excellent display in a tight encounter seeing them lose by the odd try to a well drilled Methley Warriors team. Crigglestone's tries were scored by Liam Senior and Theo Kirkpatrick. For their all around contribution to the teams display awards were made to Sam Johnson (Most Improved), Sam Tallant (Top Tackler), and Robert Elsbury (Man of the Match). Special mention also goes to Owen Hinchcliffe who played his first ever game of rugby league.
