Moldgreen 22 v Crigglestone All Blacks 0
Mold Green nilled their visitors in a game played in gale force
conditions with the home side worthy winners.
Crigg's management and coaching staff were left bemused with the high
number of absentees on the game with work and injuries adding in to the
ten missing from the squad on the day. A very lightweight pack took the
field and must take great pride from the resolute way they held out a
big and powerful home team. Top displays came from Danny Lockwood and
Ryan Horsley in the pack, hooker Hayden Luke kept things moving at half
back. A 4- 0 half time score reflected the strong Crigg defence but
Crigg felt that the constant infringing should have given game time
against 12 men in the first 40 rather than after 55 minutes when the
home side had registered 2 further scores. Kev Marson and Tom Malyan
worked hard in the backs but could not crack the home defence. Coach
Horsley commended his depleted troups and with five new signings in the
offing, things should turn around quickly after a mini slump in results.
