Crigg consolidated their Division one league position with a solid performance against a rugged South Yorkshire outfit.Honours were even for the first 15 as both packs tried to get the measure of each other. Crigg were not completing their sets of six and failing to gather pressure. Eventually, a kick to the corner saw the visitors drop out to the home side who sadly knocked on, however, from the scrum, Danny Lockwood ripped the ball one on one and Mick Wood eventually crossed for the first score.

As is often the case, from the kick off the ball was allowed to go dead, however, a good set of six saw Kevin Marson take a high ball to give relief from the restart. Crigg worked up field and D.Horsley slipped an inside pass for Tom Andrews to go on a mazy run to cross again. Dodworth hit back two minutes before the close and with the wind at their backs, threw out a wide pass to the winger which seemed to blow yards forward but this was well taken with 10-4 a good reflection of the first 40. 

Dodworth looked the livelier after half time pep talks but Crigg broke the deadlock after first kicking down field and just being beaten to the ball over the line. From the drop out, Martin Brooks was tackled touch in goal and Dodworth worked up field to cross again slipping over cheaply from acting half back and with the chance to level, the kick went wide from an easy position. 

High impact sub Steph Haslam  left a skittled defence in tatters powering 40 yards to the line which gave a quick restart and chance for Damian Horsley to sell two dummies to an unsettled defence to put more light between the two teams.Crigg gave away two cheap penalties for holing down and had to work out a big but tiring visiting pack.

Eventually, a hotly disputed try sealed the result as this time Martin Brooks did keep his body in play to touch down by the flag well converted by D.Horsley. Crigg put the icing on the cake when Ryan Horsley kicked down field for army leave player Joe Meecham to race 75 yards to beat the home defence to round of the scores, Tom Malyan adding his third conversion.
