Recently our club received a visit from two Wakefield Trinity first team players who gave the juniors a taste of what it is like to train as a Super League player.

 

We would like to thank the players for taking time out of their busy schedules at such an important time in their Super League season.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

After a great training session the lads took part in a questions and answer session with our junior teams:

 

 

1. If  Wakefield go down this year will you leave for another Super League team?

Jason: I am confident that we will stay up, if not then I would like to stick around and get wakefield back into supper league as soon as possible.

 

2. How old were you when you started playing?

Jason: 6 years old

Kevin: 8 years old

 

3. Who influenced you to play Rugby League?

Jason: Move to a new area and saw some other kids playing and asked if I could join in and have played since.

 

4. Who do you think is the best player at Wildcats?

Jason: Kevin (HA HA) David Solomoma

Kevin: Yeah I have to say Jason (HA HA) I have to agree with Jason, David Solomona

 

5.When you retire from playing what job do you think you will do?

Kevin: I would like to go into teaching.

Jason: Rugby league Coaching

 

6.What is your favourite Rugby league club (either Super League or NRL)

Kevin & Jason: West Tigers (NRL)

 

7. What is your favourite part of training?

Jason: I like all of the training but I would like to do some tag rugby in training but we don’t get to do this often

 

8. Do you have a diet you have to stick to while in training?

Kevin: well all main meals should be balanced with your main food groups like carbs and protein but that doesn’t mean you can’t eat things you like pizza and McDonalds.

 

9.What is the one thing you think you should practice when you training?

Jason: always practice your tackling and ball handling but the more ability you have the better. Be deterimined to know have to play all postions on field.

 

10. How long do you train in a day?

Jason: That depends on what we are doing we train for at least 4 – 41/2 hours each day.

Kevin: usually we train for an hour have a break then train for another hour then break etc.

Jason: if we need to practice something more we will stay back like if your kicking is off you would stay back to practice that.

 

11. What do you think about before go out on the field on a match day?

Kevin: I think of what I must do like no missed tackles, hit hard etc

Jason: what my job is on the field and lead by example.

 

12.Who is the biggest player you have played against?

Lesley Vainikolo

13. What do you like doing when you are not playing  or training?

Jason: Spending time with my daughter and playing Golf.

Kevin: Watching movies and I like to go out for a coffee.

 

14. Have you received any serious injuries while playing that have stopped you playing?

Jason: a bad shoulder injury kept me out of the game for 4 months.
